Data Analysis Projects

These are two projects that I finished on my own while following professors' instructions. The first one is the Statistical Methodology final project. The research explores how people's perceptions of the technological future—specifically, whether they think that emerging technologies will make the future better or worse—affect their predictions of what technologies will be developed in the future.
The study also discusses the factors that influenced people's perspectives. SPSS handles the data analysis.

The final paper for Sentiment Analysis in Social Media is the second project. RStudio handles the data analysis. The project focuses on how people feel about a Chinese company's role-playing game called Showa American Story. Due to its political irony, the game's trailer has sparked a lively Twitter conversation. I have analyzed the sentiments in the tweets using the data gathered by the Twitter API to determine what people want the most after watching the trailer and how they feel about the political irony.

Statistical Methodology

This paper serves as the course's final project. The study, which employs SPSS to analyze data, examines how people's attitudes toward technology—whether positive or negative—affect their predictions of future technological developments.

The data support the hypothesis that people who have a positive outlook on the technological future are more likely to have better technological predictions. People’s outlook on the technological future is negatively related to their education level. The higher level of education they received, the more negative they felt about the future with advanced technologies. However, this negative relationship appears to be fairly weak in the regression equation. People’s political view is a predictor slightly stronger than education level. The more liberal a person lean towards, the more positive he or she feels about the technological future.

Sentiment Analysis in Social Media

Based on data gathered from the Twitter API, this study aims to ascertain people's opinions of the soon-to-be-released Steam game Showa American Story. RStudio handles all the data analysis.
I tried to determine if people care more about the game itself or the political ramifications woven into the backdrop tale of the game by comparing the sentiments individuals expressed on English, Japanese, and Chinese Twitter.
The result is that for the majority of prospective players, the game's quality is more significant than its political irony.
